I received this book free from Tommy Nelson in exchange for an honest review。This looked like a fun book for middle graders。 And I'd heard of Kel Mitchell and his work with Nickelodeon。The concept of the story is creative and fun - April Fools pranks becoming reality。 I could see middle-school boys in particular enjoying the story-line and humorous moments portrayed in the illustrations and plot。 However， as a Mom， I struggled a bit with some of the elements in the story and subject matter that' I received this book free from Tommy Nelson in exchange for an honest review。This looked like a fun book for middle graders。 And I'd heard of Kel Mitchell and his work with Nickelodeon。The concept of the story is creative and fun - April Fools pranks becoming reality。 I could see middle-school boys in particular enjoying the story-line and humorous moments portrayed in the illustrations and plot。 However， as a Mom， I struggled a bit with some of the elements in the story and subject matter that's not necessarily geared to the lower middle-grade readers for example - our 'hero' is trying to get a girl to be his girlfriend。。。not exactly something an 8 year old kid is thinking about。 I also struggled some while reading the story with the plot holes and lack of character development that left the story feeling very fake and unrealistic。。。。 and while yes， the concept of pranks coming to life is complete fantasy because the story is written in a somewhat realistic style I was expecting a better balance of realism with fantasy as I've seen in other middle-school books written in this genre。 Overall， I would recommend this book to reluctant readers who enjoy comics， jokes， and inventions。 I would not recommend this book to advanced readers though as I think they would be frustrated as I was with the lack of character development and plot holes。 。。。more
